Official Ribbon Cutting Commences the Opening of
Hilton Garden Inn® Choctaw
Community Open House Scheduled for Wed., Feb. 20 from 2-6 p.m.
Choctaw, Miss. – February 19, 2008 – The Grand Opening of the Hilton Garden Inn Choctaw was an occasion to be celebrated. Tribal dignitaries from The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, business owners, and community leaders attended a formal ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a reception to celebrate the opening of the newest hotel addition to the Pearl River Resort's long list of entertainment and travel destinations.
The Hilton Garden Inn Choctaw, which is owned and operated by S&L Hospitality of Madison, Wis., is the result of a unique partnership with The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. The partnership further enhances and diversifies the Choctaw Indian Reservation's economic resources by offering an internationally recognized, first-class franchise hotel, further enhancing and diversifying tourism and business travel to the region.

Guests of today's grand opening event were treated to tours of the four-story property, which features 2,500 square feet of flexible meeting space offering high-tech capabilities; a 24-hour complimentary business center; an indoor swimming pool and whirlpool; fitness center with state-of-the-art cardiovascular and strength training equipment; the Pavilion Pantry® with a selection of refrigerated, frozen and microwaveable packaged items, and sundries; onsite guest laundry; and The Great American Grill® restaurant offering cooked to order breakfast and dinner; room service during dinner hours; and a lounge area with a television and fireplace.
The National Tribal Development Association (NTDA) also played a role in the development by issuing new market tax credits. This is the first time that a Native American company was issued tax credits by the federal government to be allocated and used on tribal land. Another first - Hilton Garden Inn Choctaw is the first Hilton Garden Inn branded hotel on Native American Land.
